Stainless Steel Sign Buckles

Stainless steel buckles are the most secure solution for affixing stainless steel banding. They have the same properties as the stainless steel used for any other application, which makes them ideal choices for most any work that requires a durable, corrosion-resistant material such as securing a sign in any type of municipal setting for road signs or traffic signals.

Stainless steel buckles provide an extra tight bond when affixing banding to high-tension packs. For example, they make great choices for lumberyards when boards are going to be shipped long distances and when keeping them in a tight pack is paramount. Stainless steel buckles are strong enough to hold heavier loads, as well, including packs of metal and other loads that would push other fastening materials to the limit. A good example of this type of application might be various industrial settings where heavy pipes must be secured for stacking or hauling over highways. Types of buckles available

Stainless steel buckles come in the same range of widths and can sized to match your steel banding, which makes it very easy to match up the banding to the buckle when you need to purchase materials for packing and shipping.  

They are made out of a material that can hold up to the most intense chemical corrosion hazards. There are different types of stainless steel used for these purposes:
  • 201 stainless steel is the most commonly employed type of stainless steel in industry. It has excellent corrosion resistance and is the least expensive of all the stainless steel options on the market.
  • If you need better corrosion resistance, however, it's usually advisable to step up to 316 stainless steel, which can hold up to extremely corrosive environments. This is the type of stainless steel that is usually seen employed in refineries, chemical plants and in other situations where metal is constantly under attack by corrosive chemicals.

Importance of safety and proper tools

Using stainless steel buckles requires that you have the proper banding tool. The banding tool will allow you to affix the buckle to the banding tightly enough to ensure that it will not open under most any normal circumstances. There are several different types of banding tools available, even designs that are intended to accommodate fastening at awkward angles.

Stainless steel buckles, when used with stainless steel that comes with safety edging, can provide a great deal of protection to the worker. Because they reinforce the bond on stainless steel banding, this ensures that there is the least possible chance of separation when something is tightened down.
