Steel Bands & Straps from Core Products USA

Core Products USA sells stainless steel straps and clamps that are designed to hold up to the most severe conditions and the toughest industrial uses. Core Products USA sells these bands in 201 and 316 stainless steel, providing enough diversity in materials to suit any application. The flexibility, strength and toughness of stainless steel have made it an industry standard. Because there are so many different applications and types of the metal, our customer service people can always provide you with more information whenever you need it. Here is some information about the options we provide as well as which of them may be ideal for you.

The Options

The corrosion resistance of stainless steel is a given, but there are different types of this metal that are better suited to some environments than to others. Thickness, strength and width will also play a part in how you decide upon which of our products are right for you.

200-300 Alloys

These alloys are ideal for applications where the environment and task are less demanding. These alloys can be purchased in 100 and 200-foot coils.

201

201 stainless steel is an affordable option that’s oftentimes used in structural applications. It comes in 100-foot rolls.

316

316 stainless steel is a very corrosion-resistant option. It is used in conditions that are exceptionally demanding and in applications that are very rough. The steel is an ideal choice for conditions where exposures to chemicals, corrosive environments and other hazards are a given.

PPA-Coated 316 Stainless Steel

PPE-coated 316 stainless steel is available in 82.5-foot long rolls. This is exceptionally resistant to corrosion and rust, making it a good choice when the application is very corrosive.

If you’re not certain what type of stainless steel you need, our customer service personnel can help you make a good decision in that regard. We can also fulfill custom orders, if you need something more specialized. Mill cuts and longer coils of any of our products are among our options.

Applications

Relatively less-stressful applications include structural fastening, bundling pipes and pipe insulation, and other jobs where the corrosion-resistant properties and strength of stainless steel are ideal qualities in the banding materials, but where the environment and other factors are not extreme.

The most trying conditions include using stainless steel in maritime environments, on signposts and at intersections where car exhaust and other pollutants combine with the environmental conditions to destroy materials. Refineries, chemical manufacturing plants and other locations where the atmosphere itself may be tainted with very corrosive materials also lend themselves to using stainless steel as a banding material.

Stainless steel is also tough, meaning that it can take a lot of tension and deform without breaking. This makes this steel excellent for use bonding cables and wires and, in particular, bundling cables and wires that are going to be run underground, where the environment and the pressure of the earth itself will conspire to destroy the materials buried. Stainless steel can endure such stresses and is resistant to being destroyed by water, corrosives and other substances.
